Is it compulsory to have an NIE?

For a short internship, the student will not need an NIE, just an identity card or passport. However, for an internship lasting more than three months, it is mandatory for students to have one. You will be asked to provide other documents: a certificate of schooling, a social security contract and a proof of financial resources.
