The Canary Islands is the destination of many tourists, especially those who love water sports like surfing. Well, the hotel where this internship takes place offers its customers water activities and facilities for learning how to surf while enjoying the stay on the island.
This hotel company has had much experience with interns for years: they have mainly provided internships at their reception, but they have also received groups of students with Erasmus + and other European scholarships. Their team is very kind and friendly.
In this hotel all internships are remunerated and offer accommodation in apartments nearby, which allow students to live their experience as if they were part of the island’s society. The work schedule is 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.
Internship tasks:
This internship at the reception on the Canary Islands is for a person with communication skills in English and Spanish who, in addition to interest in tourism, wants to be part of a young and dynamic team in a hotel in Fuerteventura.
The main tasks of this tourism internship in Spain are:
Assignment of tables to diners in the restaurant / bar area.
Record the guests’ check-in when assigning them a room.
Communication with other hotel departments.
Support in service tasks in F&B (language management)
Contact with clients in foreign languages.
Offer information on tourist services, tourism packages and other hotel proposals.
Record the check-out of outgoing customers and ensure that all payments have been made correctly.
Always solve any incident in a polite and friendly way.
Take phone calls and redirect them to the desired room or apartment.
Inform a superior or the reservation center in case of cancellation, modification or incident.
Support in table organization tasks, catering before and after services.
Keep the occupancy and room availability system updated.
Help during breakfasts by organizing tables and welcoming hotel guests.
Own billing and collection tasks.
